| We welcomed our first Samoyed into our home ten years ago. I was looking for a dog to do some obedience training with, and I didn't want a traditional breed. I was up for a challenge! We spent several months researching the different breeds, but decided that we wanted a Samoyed. We searched for a breeder and reserved our puppy. This breeder would only sell us a show quality puppy although this isn't want we had hoped for. Then we decided to show her in conformation since we had purchased her for show price. After months of having little success showing, I met some local breeders who offered us their wisdom and took the time to mentor us. The result is Legacy Samoyeds. Our second Samoyed came to us from Tobil Samoyeds. We named him Ch. Tobil's Rockets Red Glare, and he showed us how much fun exhiibiting in conformation can be. Rocky finished his championship at 11 months old and took WD/BOW at Potomac Valley Samoyed Club's specialty for a 5 point major. He went on to have quite a successful show career including a BOB at Westminster Kennel Club . Rocky went to live with Bobbie Davis who adored him and gave him the opportunity to do what he loves best. Showing! We are very greatful to Coleen Baer of Snowbaer Samoyeds for sharing her prize puppy with us (Ch. Polar Mist Society's Legacy) and mentoring us patiently over the years. We owe our gratitude to Lynette Blue of Polar Mist Samoyeds for the years of dedicated breeding that has contributed to our dogs successes. . . |
